I'm a tutor based in Griffith, Indiana. I obtained a bachelor's degree in English from Chicago State University. (I also have a master's in English with a specialization in Creative Writing.)I have experience in teaching children and adults because I taught at the college level and the secondary level for two years. I also have two teaching licenses: one to teach English to 5-12th grade students, and another to be a substitute teacher for K-12 students.Here is a list of the disciplines I teach: English, Social Studies, Reading, Poetry Writing, Literature, Study Skills, Grammar and Mechanics, Middle School Math, Test Prep, Technology and Computer Science, and more. Though I like to tutor a variety of subjects, my favorite one is Reading.What I like most about being a teacher is seeing my students grow in their learning. I don't just instruct them, I also motivate and encourage them to go far in what they do. We work together to set and execute learning objectives.When I'm not involved in teaching, I like to read and write poetry and fiction, dance, swim, and travel the world. I'm also an active member of the PhD Sisters Group at Capella University, a doctoral support group for women.
